True love doesn't really count on each joy shared by the couple. It doesn't really count on how much you laughed every time they are together. It doesn't really count how much happy moments you have throughout the year.
What it really counts is the hardships their relationship has gone through. What it really counts is the tears being cried for each fight, the pain inflicted, the hurt being thrown at each other.
For this hardships and hurt and pain and tears are the things that make their relationship stronger. These are all the things which, when overcame, will make them hold on and say, we did it. We are still strong and we can still make it.
And that is true love.
