It’s hard to tell your mind to stop loving someone when your heart still does.

Why? Because it is their happiness to let you feel their love. And when their love is pure, they will not ask to be loved in return. They just want to show you how they feel and for them, that will be enough.    Don't be too kind to give them false hope. If you don't truly love them or if you don't feel anything for them, tell them so. They have to accept it.   Allow them to show you how they feel if that will make them happy. Who knows, time comes when you are ready to open your heart and your eyes to their love and maybe, just maybe, you can also love them back someday.
